Brayden's Christmas Mission

What can I send to the Troops?

How can you help?

Last year we stuffed a stocking with lots of items listed below and sent them over as care packages for each soldier.  We also threw in larger items that the entire unit could use! It was a huge success!

Here is a list of suggested items by the troops themselves:

Cards and Letters are always welcome!

Homemade Ornaments from the Children are awesome!

Hard Candies (Butterscotch, Peppermints, etc...)

Gum (Multi-Packs of different type)
                        Candy Canes (different flavors, etc...)

Christmas Cookies (in the tins)
Mini-Candy Bars (Snickers, Milky Way, 3 Musketeers, etc...)

Mine Electronic Games (Poker, Black Jack, 20 Questions, Sudoko, etc....)

Decks of Playing Cards

Assorted Nut Bags (Peanuts, Pistachios, etc...)

Beef Jerky (Small bags)

Trail Mix Bags (Small Travel size bags, Assorted flavors, etc...)

Dried Fruit (Bananas, Apples, etc...)

Toothbrushes, Toothpaste, Comb, Brush, etc.

Shampoo/Bath Gel/Soaps
Personal Hygiene Items (Chapstick, Hand Lotion, Eye Drops, etc...)

Insulated Socks
                        Pens/Pencils/Journal/Notepads
Books, Magazines, Crossword puzzles, Word Finds, etc...

DVD's (Not one for each person- they will be checked out by individuals)

Small Christmas Tree

Decorations/ Lights

Christmas Music

Wall Hangers

Santa Suit

                        Garland, Christmas Lights, etc.

Please limit any “food” items to packaged, store bought non-perishables that won’t melt on the trip there!  Homemade foods might slow up the process as everything gets checked. Remember, all they have for Christmas is what we send them!  Please feel free to be creative!  J  Solicit your child’s class to make ornaments or cards one day.  They tell us that those mean the most!

Note:
If its easier for you to send a monitary donation to us as some of you did last year, I will be happy to shop for you!  (100% of your donation goes to the troops!)  But, please do so by December 1st, 2009.  We need to get the packages in the mail by the first of the month to ensure that they get there on time.  Our address is:
